High School Application

Thank you for your interest in the Engineering for US All (e4usa) Program. This site provides useful information on how prospective school sites can apply to be a part of this exciting initiative. The link below to the e4usa application form will prompt applicants for general demographic information on their respective school sites. Then, depending on the role of the school representative completing the form (school principal/head of school, department chairperson, or teacher), a specific series of prompts will be provided.
To learn more about expectations of potential e4usa partner schools, please review our April 2019 webinar.
Please note that for every prospective site, a school principal must complete this application, responding to both the general and principal-specific prompts. A senior administrator with authorization to sign on behalf of the school principal can also complete this section.
A department chairperson or teacher must also complete the general and chairperson/teacher-specific prompts on this application. Please note that preference will be given to school sites that indicate that more than one teacher is available to participate in e4usa. If teachers, rather than chairpersons, are filling out the form, then preference will be given to applications that include forms from at least two different teachers.
*Please note that initial sites for 2019-20 have been selected. If your school is interested in participating this year, please email Dr. Bruk Berhane at bberhane@umd.edu. To be considered for a future academic year (e.g., 2020-21), please also email Dr. Berhane.
In recognition of their time, selected teachers will receive a payment through the e4usa program. School sites will also receive payment in support of the e4usa program. For details on the e4usa payment schedule, please contact one of the following points of contact.
A select number of participating e4usa sites may be asked to submit aggregate student information - such as performance in the course - or to help facilitate surveys and interviews of participating instructors and students. e4usa also encourages all school sites to cooperate and participate in a variety of data collection and training activities as permitted by the policies of their school district. In addition, some e4usa sites may be contacted by a member of the team to follow up with school staff and students about the impact of the e4usa curriculum. The information obtained through this process will assist with ongoing research associated with this program and will aid in assessing the efficacy of e4usa. By applying to this program, this in no way obligates selected school sites to provide this information or access to stakeholders at your school. However, a member of the e4usa research team may be in touch to ask about your interest in supporting these additional efforts.
Please direct questions regarding the e4usa program application process to the following points of contact. Please note the different points of contact for different regions in the U.S.
