Opportunity to Partner with e4usa on the NSF Credit and Placement Initiative
e4usa (Engineering for US All) is launching an exciting new initiative to expand college credit and placement opportunities for high school students completing coursework aligned with the e4usa curriculum. This curriculum is currently under consideration by the College Board as the foundation for a possible future AP Engineering course.
Through this initiative, we aim to partner with colleges and universities to create credit pathways that recognize high school students’ engineering achievements and inspire them to pursue further studies in the field.
Benefits of Participation
Selected institutions will:
- Receive financial support: Up to $20,000 in funding distributed to the university or key individuals developing and teaching the course.
- Build curriculum capacity: Support to revise an existing course or create a new 3-credit undergraduate engineering course aligned with the e4usa high school curriculum.
- Join a community of practice: Access to professional learning, curriculum development resources, and collaboration with peer institutions nationwide.
- Expand student access: Establish pathways for high school students to earn college credit, broadening engineering literacy opportunities.
Key Milestones
Participating institutions will commit to:
- Modifying an existing undergraduate course or developing and securing approval for a new one.
- Establishing a formal credit pathway that allows students who complete e4usa high school coursework to earn college credit.
- Offering the revised or new course for the first time at their institution.
Why Participate?
This initiative not only supports your institution’s mission of expanding educational access but also helps build a robust national network of colleges and universities offering credit for advanced high school coursework in engineering. Together, we will strengthen and increase the number of students entering higher education with strong engineering foundations.
Application Process
We will select up to five institutions to join the first cohort.
