e4usa Expands +Programming Course with New Grant from MathWorks®

We’re thrilled to share that e4usa has received a second grant from MathWorks to expand our e4usa+Programming course! This continued support fuels our mission to prepare students for college and careers through hands-on programming and engineering education.
In just one year, the course has grown from 4 pilot teachers to a nationwide network of 13 educators. Using MATLAB, students explore algorithmic thinking, engineering design, and real-world problem-solving – from coding interactive games to designing step-by-step challenges.
Spotlight on Ivon Suarez – Embracing Engineering and Empowering Students

Meet Ivon Suarez, a veteran educator in Miami-Dade County Public Schools who recently dove into her first structured engineering curriculum through e4usa. With over two decades of experience and a passion for real-world STEM education, Ivon describes e4usa as a “life-saver” that brought fresh structure and inspiration to her teaching. Read how she’s bringing new energy to her classroom and encouraging others to do the same.
Wrapping Up a Summer of Fun for e4usa!
As we look ahead to the start of the school year, we’re wrapping up one of our most impactful summers yet.
We’ve completed two incredible in-person professional development sessions in Tennessee and Miami and delivered multiple online PDs, including for e4usa+Making, Liaison PD, and our final PD of the season for e4usa+Programming. We’ve welcomed passionate new educators into our community and supported returning teachers with fresh tools, strategies, and inspiration. They also continue to inspire us!
On the road, our team made meaningful connections at national conferences like ASEE, where we shared about our AP initiative and how to expand engineering pathways to more high school students. We also caught up with familiar faces and built new relationships at NAF Next, Arizona’s Summer CTE Conference, the ADE Summit in Arkansas, and ASEE’s FYEE conference.
With summer winding down, we’re energized and ready to kick off the new school year. Thank you to everyone who’s joined us on this journey. Here’s to another year of engineering for us all!
